CISSP certification is well known and it needs for those professionals with professional skills and broad information and security expertise. You need wide range of security knowledge which many IT professionals need to be expert in this field.
I have listed some horror stories while during my teaching experience and you shouldn’t waste your time and money to read your course line by line. You should get training from certified professionals online. To save your time and money, I would like to share some useful tips with you while taking your cissp certification training.
Tip 1: Confirm Ability of the Instructor
While you are taking training for cissp exam you should evaluate that instructor’s ability whether he or she is expert in that specific field. Instructor should be cissp certified and also well qualified. Instructor should also be expert in other related certifications because if you are taking training for Microsoft certification for example, widows active directory services, he should also have knowledge about windows firewall.
If instructor is teaching about ISA server he should have knowledge about firewall implementations and should explain how ISA words and its functions comparing to Cisco PIX, Check point firewall NF and Linux IP Tables.
CISSP exam covers almost 10 security domains and it is like 10 exams in one. Instructor should be well qualified in each security domain. Some of the course have been developed by experienced authors and those are certainly good one. CISSP is an expert level certification and you should make sure that your instructor is expert in each of 10 domains before you join CISSP class for training.
You should also be watchful about training centre that boots of a course prepared by expert and it is used by someone else for training only. The strength of instructor basically comes from instructor in front of you. Instructor should be able to transfer knowledge which is really needed you to get professional skills and perfect preparation.
