MCSA Certification and its Exams
Microsoft certified system administration certification will suit best to the candidates who have work experience for at least 6 months to 1 year in the information technology field like network operating system, networking infrastructure and desktop operating system etc. Candidates will earn all credentials from this MCSA certification like managing, implementing and troubleshooting the new network from the existing network.
Examinations for MCSA certification:
According to the examination point of view, candidates need to take up three core test (2 exams on network system and one with client operating system) which are mandatory and one elective paper in which large options of subjects will be available and candidates can choose one elective paper that suits best with their requirement. The following are the exam information which will help the candidates for exam preparation.
Examinations on network system: (both exams are required):
1) Exam code: 70-290 and exam name is MS windows 2003 server environment.
2) Exam code: 70-291 and exam name is MS windows 2003 server network infrastructure.
Examinations on client operating system: (any one examination can be selected from the below)
1) Exam code: 70-270 and exam name is Microsoft windows XP professional.
2) Exam code: 70-620 and exam name is MCTS windows vista.
All the above examinations listed for the preparation is based on the current year exam objective and Microsoft will update the exam list each year based on the current demand in the information technology field. Some of the examinations are retired and candidates who have written the examination and not passed the examination cannot get their certification and have to choose some other exams and reapply.
Elective paper options will be given after the completion of core examinations and they will be available in the internet. Candidates should check up with the Microsoft website at regular intervals for the updates. Other certifications like comp TIA, A+ (comp TIA) certification and network+ certification will also be available as one of the options in the elective papers. Candidates can even choose MCDST certification examination as an elective. The major advantage to the candidates will be that they will get an opportunity in getting two certification courses simultaneously.
